In the March 6 issue of Business Week, according to Reuters, there is mention of a biotech stock which has a unique take on testosterone therapy.

What is even more interesting about this is that some believe the drug may be able to reverse tendencies among boys to develop into homosexuals.

One more item re Androxal:

It is not at all implausible that Androxal may reverse the tendency among "effeminate" boys to homosexuality.

It is generally accepted that two factors -- genetic predisposition, and testosterone deficiency -- are involved in boys' developing homosexual gender identification.

(The testosterone deficiency is related to imbalances in the mother's system in utero).

Reversing the testosterone deficiency in boys aged six to say 14 might allow the neuro sexual pathwasys to develop "normally".

Prescribing Androgel or its like would put the boys at risk of side affects such as shrivelling testicles and 'Roid Rage. The spikes of behavior on top of normal childhood/adolescent behavior are not pleasant to think of.

Androxal might just do the trick. That is because Androxal doesnt fill the body with testosterone but rather allows it to increase production of its own. It is not impossible that this might (safely) work.

However, imagine the Right/Left culture war this might provoke.

Think of what Rush Limbaugh or Bill O'Reilly, let alone Michael Savage might have to say about it...

Think about what Hollywood, which brought us Brokeback Mountain, might think...

NEW YORK, Feb 23 (Reuters) - Small biotechnology company Zonagen Inc. (ZONA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) could be a takeover target because its main product, a drug for testosterone deficiency, has shown promise in tests, Business Week reported in its March 6 issue.

Zonagen's oral pill, Androxal, treats testosterone deficiency, which afflicts 6.3 million men in the United States. A Phase 3 clinical trial to test its efficacy will be held later later this year, Business Week reported.

Androxal could capture 4 percent of the U.S. market by 2010, and makes Zonagen a likely takeover target, Efficacy Capital's Mark Lappe told the magazine. Lappe, with a 12-month price target of $14, named Pfizer Inc. (PFE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) and Wyeth (WYE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) as possible buyers.

Zonagen shares closed Thursday at $9.03, down 22 cents or 2.4 percent, on Nasdaq.

Ongelooflijk, we leven inmiddels anno 2006, en nog word dit soort 'medicatie' 'uitgevonden' en aangeprezen.......enneh, 'leuk' dat het homosexualiteit geneest, maar diepgeniep stiekeme bi mannen, die zich toch al als 'hetero' voordoen uit sociale angst en schaamte mogen die medicijnen via een soort AA bestellen of zo? Of hoeft dat niet, omdat die bi/pseudohetero mannen al 'aangepast' zijn middels een (nietsvermoedende) vrouw/vriendin?
