Eunuchs castrate 24-yr-old

Amritsar, July 15: A 24-year-old resident of Kot Mit Singh Colony was
allegedly castrated by his eunuch friends of eight years after plying
him liquor. When Jaswinder Singh gained consciousness, he found
himself at the local multi-specialty Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. Doctors
said they did not have the amputated part, otherwise they could have
reattached it.
"They were my friends, but lately had been keeping a grudge because I
was in love with a eunuch from the group. They had recently threatened
me of making me a eunuch," said Jaswinder, adding that the group of
eunuch whose names he had given to the police were also eyeing the
property of Meenakshi. "I have nothing to do with the house... I love
Meenakshi," he said.
Jaswinder's father Puran Singh said his son's life has been ruined. "I
used to warn him to stay away from them, but he didn't listen," he said.
Meanwhile, the police said they were inquiring into the matter and
have identified and booked six persons. "I have recorded the statement
of the victim. He has given me some names that include Meenakshi too.
We are filing an FIR and arrests will be made shortly," said Inspector
Manjit Singh, who is investigating the case.
SSP Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh said a thorough probe was on and the
culprits would be arrested soon.

Oh, ik had die opmerking over "psychological illnesses" opgevat als dat ze die als gevolg van hun positie buiten de samenleving zouden kunnen hebben en/of een poging om hun hijra-zijn buiten hun eigen verantwoordelijkheid te plaatsen. Dat gebeurt hier met transen feitelijk ook nog altijd: pathologiseren, medicaliseren en het feit dat men denkt dat transseksualiteit "aangeboren" is, helpt ook hier mee aan een vorm van begrip. Van zonde naar ziekte naar zelfrespect, schreef Louis Gooren, geloof ik. Dat de prostitutie geheel buiten beeld bleef is inderdaad merkwaardig. Goed dat je daarop wijst. En dat is inderdaad een heel irritant fenomeen, dat dan altijd de prostituanten onzichtbaar blijven en alleen de prostitué(e)s het stigma dragen.
